How to test for leaks on a Mini-Split with Low Side Gauge Only

Stop fitting your gauge to it or you will mess the charge up, the 20g or 30g you can lose will soon make the system run like it has a leak. If you are worried about your repair leaking, turn the system off and test the repair with some soapy water.

    AC condensate plumbing

Just follow the manufacturers instructions for draining. I have never seen a mini split that requires a vent on the drain line.

Bolting 44" HF Tool Boxes Together

Could you make and fit a sandwich plate between the castor and cabinet that spans the gap, using the castors bolt holes? You'd need to pack the end castors the same thickness. It would leave the cabinets unmarked should you wish to split them in future.

MiniSplit Evaporator Leak/Repair - Warranty Just Ended!

This^ -14.7 psi is not going to leak check a system that can run over 600psi in heating mode. Also if there is a leak in the line set the vacuum will pull the insulation over the hole and it can appear ok. R410A and POE oil can dissolve plumbing solder, plus the flux used can get in the pipe...

Use & Abuse of Crescent Wrenches by tubalcain

Watched the vid, seems to me the 'correct' way to use them is wrong, surely the moving jaw should have the load applied nearest to the slide for less leverage on the presumed weakest jaw? Either way i have been using mine whichever way they fit best and often end up swapping from correct to...

MiniSplit Evaporator Leak/Repair - Warranty Just Ended!

Its most likely due to corrosion of some sort, solder is no go, it needs to be brazed if you decide to repair it. I'd braze it up but i have all the tools needed to do so. Your money would be better spent fitting a new coil as it could well leak somewhere else next month (or not, no way of...

    New 8 mm gearwrench

Makes me wonder if the use the same size head from the next size up and broach it smaller. I mainly use 8mm on electrical stuff so clearance could be an issue with the newer version, not keen tbh.

    Tools in Romania

They would be for diesel or petrol/gas. We get the same style ones here, they come in 5L, 10L and 20L sizes. Don't forget to get a spout to go with it if you buy one. A water container would be plastic, or stainless if you have more money than sense

    Mini-Split Indoor Unit Location Advice

Either a console unit or certain models of under ceiling unit can be floor mounted. The high wall unit would be cheaper and probably better anyway blowing along the longest run rather than across it.
