I have a GENUINE Honda GX200 with a GENUINE Keihin carburetor that I need to do a thorough cleaning on. I have B&S 19061 and 19062 hollow ground "jet" screwdrivers. Neither one will engage the slot main in the main jet ! What do you use to remove the main jet ?

    Source for low voltage terminals

I'm sure this has been asked and answered before ... I need to refill some of the empty compartments in my assortment of low voltage terminal splices. Nothing fancy : fastons, **** splices, rings. Standard colors (red, blue yellow). I don't want a "kit", because you get too many of what you...

    Cheap impact

For a friend (I own both a 3/8" and 1/2" Milwaukee). If he lived closer, I would just go to his house. Something strong enough to remove lug nuts and the nut that holds lawn mower blades on, so very limited use. Corded or cordless.

    Crazy HVAC compressor question

Many people have never heard of DC power refrigerant compressors, but they have existed for a long time. Most run on (nominal) 12VDC or 24VDC. Technically, the motor does not run DIRECTLY on DC current. There is an inverter box bolted to the side that converts the DC to 3 phase AC (Not sure...

    Sparky labor rate

Ball park. $50/hour ? $100/hour ? I want a new load center installed. I will purchase it all parts. The existing load center has less than 24 circuits. Surface mount to a poured wall. No ceiling. All circuit come in from overhead. In my mind, the steps required are pull meter...

    Unicorn hunt !

I am looking for a small, 1/2 ton or less, BIDIRECTIONAL rope puller. Basically a chain hoist for rope, with a lever. Or a come-a-long that does NOT spool up the taken up rope.

    Glass cleaner

Hey, it IS a tool ! The inside of windshields collect a "film" from out-gasing of the vinyl used on the top of the dashboard. Most cleaners I have used require repeating the cleaning process 2 or 3 times. What is your favorite cleaner for the inside of windshields ?

Preventing Capped Lug Nuts from swelling

We danced around this topic a few years ago. Currently replacing a bunch more on a 2016 Edge. Is there any sure fire way of preventing chromed capped lug buts from swelling ?

Who has hybrid electric power ?

Hybrid is typically a combination of solar and grid supplied power. Anymore, few POCOs will "buy back" at the same price they sell power to you. Plus the cost of the second meter and batteries makes the "break even" time much longer.

Machinists - Looking for a small job ?

The OD measures 1.226". The ID measures 0.492" (1/2?). 0.370" thick. It has 28 straight cut teeth. I have not measured the keyway yet. The original was probably made out of powdered metal. Lots of torque going through this gear.

    Sad day !

My 40+ year old corded, Craftsman Industrial, triple gear reduction 1/2" drill (900.27121) died ! I One of the gears broke while I was drilling holes in a stump with a 1" auger bit. That sucker had so much torque (max 600 RPM) that it could break your wrist or spin you around if you were...

Old Craftsman/Poulan electric chainsaw, clutch slips

So I dug out my Dad's old (50 yo) Craftsman 14" electric chain saw (Model # 358.34760 made by Poulan). As soon as the chain touches the wood, the clutch slips. (#3 is the drive disc, #4 is the drum). Note there is nothing in-between #3 and #4 ! Is it just the tension on the nut (#18) and...

    Mityvac extractor/dispenser

I don't really want a multi-gallon extractor/dispenser (unless someone can convince me otherwise) because of it size (storage). Opinions on either a MV7102 or MV7105 ?

    Question for NEC "Code Lawyers"

In residential kitchens, is a separate circuit required for a microwave ? In residential kitchens, is a separate circuit required for a refrigerator ? I know kitchen counter top receptacles require GFCI protection, but what about other kitchen circuits ?

    Spool gun

So I keep dreaming about learning to weld. There are several Chinese MIG (120v/240V, flux/gas) >200A well under $500. Most offer an optional spool gun for around $100. These spool guns all say they are good for 150A. So if the welder is capable of 250A, does the gun limit the current ? Or...

    Polytetrafluoroethylene vs Polyoxymethylene

a.k.a. POM vs PTFE a.k.a. Delrin vs Teflon I am designing something that will have a high load, flat, sliding surface. While the load will be high (>100 psi), the "speed" that the surfaces traverse are very slow. It will be exposed to the "elements", including road salt. Which is better ?
