    Dial indicator suggestions

Slowly Cut it down on a lathe which minimizes variance of runout? Use V blocks to clamp, align and tack weld at least three equal spaces. I'd use any magnetic indicator available. MSC Direct and Enco has lots of them for not too much $. Mine are Starrett, Mitutoyo and Brown- Sharpe but the...

    Bending Aluminum Stock

Heating should not bee required. As mentioned by others a 5052 is better and easily cold formed. My experience with hardware and big box store aluminum is the hardness and lack of bending ease. 2000 and 5000 series are good. 6061, 6063 and 7075 are very prone to cracking.

    Epoxy'ing around a water heater

Make sure it is turned off if gas and gas off, put painters tape around the heater lower shell not the floor. Caulking seems unnecessary and and may leave a bead if heater is replaced?

    Round Point Shovels?

One of these- depending on where your are located.. http://www.amestruetemper.com/products/sub-family.aspx?LineId=78&FamilyId=81 You can use the shorter D handle transfer together. A spade shovel gives you some qualities of both.

Need advise on how to fix cement corner

Another trick is to take a brush or broom and pat the bristle ends to surface to match the surrounding texture. Again do after you get the shape close and it starts to dry on the surface.

Need advise on how to fix cement corner

That's similar- noticed you are CANADA. you need to be able to shape it so it does not fall over and you can work with it fast enough. I'd get some painters tape with new sprint paper to mask the bottom edge- the polymers can stick where you may not want it. Add small quantities of water to get...

Need advise on how to fix cement corner

I'd use a latex modified patching concrete which can bond to your other concrete or regular bagged mix and add some latex binder used in tile flooring.. Quikrete makes a product small enough for that..

    Scissor jack safety?

Suggest only using for very light loads or supporting spindles, transmission tail support, suspension parts or emergency spare tire changing. I tried what you are doing with 2T scissors jack. The base is small and easily tips. They do not support much side load. How do I know? We had it tilt and...

    3D printing

Use both 3D printing methods of SLA, Dimension machines and Objet technology. Not the panecea (sp?) folks make it out to be but improves continuously. But truly has its place- otherwise i would not use it 30x plus/year. You can also do metal printing combined with LASER and wire spooling...
