Vise stand from a 3"x24" screw jack

This jack is as big as I've seen, 3" diameter screw. I like the soft curves of the jack and harrow disc. The concept is to tilt and roll, to move it, if I can get the geometry and center of gravity right.

    drawing board upgrade

With every project needing a plan, the drawing board is essential to success. I've always just used a straight edge, with triangles, protractor and dividers for laying out. Now, I finally have a drafting machine fastened to the board. It should really speed design and drawing time.

    The holiday season has begun

First project is a 5’ +/- earth globe framed with 5/8” round bar. While I believe the continent’s could be scaled with latitude and longitude, I don’t relish the thought of having to go that way. I hope I can find a way to get a file in the right scale and have them printed to be used as...

Marked St Pierre Worcester Mass USA It has a fork on one end and a slight serrated heel on the other. The ends are forged, jumped onto 5/8" hex stock. Found out that it was made by St Pierre chain corporation, founded in 1920. They were a chain manufacturer, who in 1928 branched out into...

    Christmas 2020

Got Santa's shop opened up, for the season. One of my daughters sent me a pic of a tensegrity table, which is a table that appears to be floating in air. My thought is to use the same principal for a chair. So, after some research, a foot of pencil lead and a yard of eraser, got the base cut...
