    Pump ID

I found this thread on pump at a secondhand store for $2.00. It makes and holds a pretty strong vacuum. The top brass fitting looks like a tubing hook up and under the cap is a needle. So does it thread onto a bottle or vessel? I'm not sure.

Making things more useful with magnets

About 6 months ago I took some old bread pans and bolted a pair of magnets to one side. They are very useful when working on a car on a lift. And they can hold a lot of weight too. A big time saver when I can toss a handful of lug nuts into them and not having to chase down a dropped one. The...

    New Icon work light

I watched a few videos on it, seems pretty decent for $40. Three lights and it folds shut. Battery is not easily removed. Anyone own one?

Is this just a brake adjuster?

I've never saw a brake adjuster with a pointed end, only markings are Craftsman and a small G in a circle.

    ID this floor jack

I know, worlds worst picture. I'm going to look at it tomorrow. It looks like a quality small jack from what I can tell, by the 1 piece handle and the lift plate is serrated. And that back solid axle. They want $15 for it.

    Cornwell 10mm only set

The Cornwell guy stopped by to show us his deals, he had a set that was interesting. It was a set that was in 3/8 drive but only 10mm sockets. It included deep, shallow, mid length, uni, swivel, and a few impacts. All for $130. It came on a magnetic rail, I haven't found a kit # and he said it...

Help me ID this hub puller.

I picked up this hub puller at a flea market yesterday for $5. It was missing the forcing screw. It has a coarse thread pitch that looks like your typical ball joint press forcing screw, except its 1" instead of 1 1/8". I found a site that sells the whole kit but they don't list the screw...

    Angle impacts, anyone have one?

I've been thinking about getting one of these, seems like a quite few companies are releasing their own version of CP angle impact. Is it going to be all the rage this year. I'd like to hear from those that have one.

Found 2 tool boxes in scrap pile.

Let see what's in side of these two Craftsman boxes. Mostly cheap sockets, Master Mechanic stuff. So of the larger sockets are stamped USA while others a Taiwanese. The 3/8 ratchet is USA while the 1/4 is unmarked cheapie. The files are quality pieces, lightly used. Pocket knife is a Case and is...

new HF snap ring plier set

I was at the store checking out that new work light everyone is talking about, I see they have a new set of snap ring pliers under the Icon name. the few reviews are positive. I did do a search and didn't find them discussed...

    U joint pressing tip

I was doing some u joints the other day that had the end flanges that like to bend, I decided to try something with a 20 press and a pitman arm puller (minus the forcing screw). I used the puller to press on the cross just like in the first picture, it worked very well. Sometimes when pressing...

    Problems with Earthquake cordless ratchet

I bought one this summer along with an extra battery, seemed like a quality tool. A couple weeks into it, I started having issue where the tool would just quit. It seemed like it was one battery in particular, so I marked it to tell them apart. Yep, it was just with that battery, so I warrantied...

    Sway bar link pliers

Anyone try one of these yet? I bought a pair on Friday, the mac guy said he sold 40 of them in a week. I guess they grab the joint & keep it from spinning. 9 Circle 9cl-89101 They were about $25.

    Cheap oil extractor

I made this from stuff I had around. The heart of it is a 2 way exercise ball pump (which creates vacuum) and the container that I got from work. I had the 1/8 npt ******, tap, & 5/16 clear tubing lying around. It drained the cold oil out of the mower in 2 minutes.:rocker: I used a hole saw to...

    Neat impact gun

I'd like to find out more about this and that air swivel. With only minimal googling I've done, are these only available in Europe?

    MasterCool flares for nylon line

They need to make some dies so you can put nylon directly on to steel lines. They make nylon to steel compression unions, but these can be a challenge to get a leak free seal. We always use pex clamps to help seal the connections. I'd like to be able to make steel line sections to handle the...

    Scored! Scrapheap find!

Blackhawk SJ-1 1.5 ton. We have this open trailer at work for scrap metal. I was out there empting my bucket and saw a floor jack. We don't have a big crew so I figured it was most likely from my boss's home garage. I know his son in law & at one time he said that he had a professional jack at...

Any fixes for broken M12 battery latches?

Yeah those battery latches are pretty flimsy, I broke one that I use on my ratchet. The batt keeps popping out during use so I think the other latch is going to be long lived.
