Bubbles on a few year old RoboToolz laser level

I've had a long time. Cleaned out the leaked battery but luckily just went bad and came out easily. Noticed the rear side to side bubble is dry. Guessing the caps were pressed in from both sides and the little hole is an adjustment screw. Can't tell if that's the liquid from the bubble or...

Bowed out old Dake 25-H press

Older model, low serial number. The table sits on top of the pins. Pins don't go through the table holes since it’s a little bowed out. is there any way to pull the frame sides in? That would be best. I’m going to pull the head off to replace some seals but the only person with a 50 ton press...

    Another Blackhawk R159 Piston question

I saw a video for a different piston where there was a screw in the end the person ran a piece of wire through to pull the retraction spring and get the screw in. Can’t seem to pull it back far enough and leave myself room to get the screw through the loop In the pic you can see the curve of...

    Chuck mount for old Portomag

Picked up and it runs smoothly. Unscrewed and looks like a sleeve for a MT3 or 4 drill. What does the mount look like for a Jacob’s chuck? Is it the same as the outside of the sleeve with a JT on the end? This thing is heavy. Thanks!

Flat bits for manual impact driver

Have the below for over two years now. It's tolerable, but doesn't hold the bits in anymore. Bigger issue is I've broken two of the 5/16" flat bits. Does anyone make decent quality sets of just 5/16 flat bits? Thanks, Rich

    Blackhawk R159 cylinder questions

I got a small Porto-Power shop press that uses the R-159 cylinder. It didn't leak and extended but didn't retract so I thought the spring was broken. Opened and the spring seems fine but part 3 (spring adjusting screw) wasn't screwed in the top of the piston but was sitting in the bottom of the...

    Digital Multimeter range question

Why does an auto ranging digital multimeter have ranges? What's the point? I can see on an analog meter knowing which band the result is on, but for an auto ranging digital meter if it shows 120.0 why do I care that it might be in a 0-600v range versus showing OL in a 0-60. Thanks.

Belts for an angle grinder tube and pipe polisher attachment

Know someone who I can borrow from but doesn’t have any belts Which 1.5”x30 belts would be best for cleaning a rusted drill press column, as well as another drill that’s not as bad. Saw scotch-brite as well as normal grinding belts but not sure what’s best. Can you apply evaporust before the...

    Watchmaker screwdrivers

Bought and returning a $10 set from Amazon that didn't impress me. Is there anything nice between the China garbage and Bergeon? Something nice, not super expensive. Thanks, Rich

SOLD-GM AC Diagnostic Tune Up Center

Has the emission unit. Untested. Doesn’t have a 2 cylinder setting or would try on the lawn tractor. Besides age and dirt only thing I noticed damaged is the 2A fuse holder for the OHM tester. Only has what’s shown

    Waffle iron problem

I stopped using an Intedge waffle iron since it was tripping the CGFI breaker (don't think it was tripping the panel breaker). My memory was it would heat, the light would go off until time to cycle back on and when it went back on was when the breaker tripped. Decided to try again. The only...

    ECi power supply question

Dragged home and never tried. The DC side reads very close to my meter. Maybe .1 volt difference. However the A/C side looks like it should be 6.3v (at least that's what the label says) but either side I get 7.5 or 7.6v Am I doing something wrong or is there something wrong with it? Both of...

    Porto Power press retraction question

Only have a pic laying on the ground moving and in a bucket. The knob seems stiff but the cylinder does extend when pumped. Vertical in a standard hydraulic press configuration is there anything to make it retract? Should it retract on its own? Considering the age is it due for a rebuild kit...

    Old cup dolly rehab

I upgraded my pretty useless cup dollies to something better, but the old ones were small, cast iron, with steel wheels and maybe better for small things in limited space, but don't work well. The swivel bearings look corroded and I doubt there's any bearing material in the wheels. Would the...

Metl-Former vise - how to get handle off

I want to remove the handle and screw from the moving end of a little Metl-Former vise. The impressions look like crimps but I don't see a pin in the larger part close to the casting. The outer part with the handle I didn't see any pins either Could be corroded and hidden Thanks, Rich

Fein hose to vac adapter needed

Is there an adapter to go from the old Fein vac hose where there was a button on the vac (top) to the newer twist ones with a lug (bottom)? Either something commercial or a 3d print file would work. Thanks, Rich
