    Cornwell, extra fat socket ??

Why is this 1/2 " drive by 1/2" 6pt socket so fat? It's 1 1/8" wide and reads "10 Cornwell. USA 1/2-IS215" I figure its an impact but its matt chrome or something and not black oxide.

    Drywall dust in electric tools

I've heard it causes problems but I've been using a Milwaukee Mag Hole Shooter for a while now and the last owner got dust inside. I tried to clean it but can only get the brush cover off and the handle plate. I can get inside the gearbox too but I can't remove the whole thing to remove the...

    Workbench legs from Global Industrial

What a waste of time n money. I just lag screwed a top on them, put a 2/4 and plywood shelf underneath, mounted my vise and ... the whole thing wobbles. I looked closely while shaking it and the legs themselves flex. The gauge of metal used is too thin and they're held together with tiny little...

    Snap On Ferret evolution.

Just picked up a F-710-A ratchet. My last pear head Snap On was an old F70. It's been a while since I've seen it or any other but I could swear that it was much smaller. This 710 feels huge. Is it just me or were the F70 ratchets from the 40's more 'Ferretish' ? Also does anyone have a rebuild...

    Guys with late 70's n 80's sk sets ...

Do the ratchets have patent numbers stamped on the underside ? We all know ratchets marked 'sk tools' were made from 1970 till the early 80's. I'm wondering if there are ways to narrow it down further. So if someone has one of those sets with race car drivers on the inserts ('so and so, winner...

    Cornwell ratchets with odd handle.

Anyone ever see a Cornwell pear head with a knurled handle? I bought this one used and thought it was thrown together by the original owner. I like knurling but this knurling sucked and looked cheap too so I 'plasti-dipped' it and didn't give it much thought after. Today I saw one on eBay and...
