    Older no name socket.

No Mfg or origin marking . It seeme better made those Duro sockets with size only marked on them but the broaching is kinda duro-ish. Does anyone know who made this ?

    Crecent LM75

Crescent LM75 These were made by Wright and the gut kits will interchange. I think they're a nice alternative to SK's. They have 45 teeth, the same back drag and a smaller head. Edit .. Crescent.

    Williams BT-50.

Don't see to many of these. It's 3/8 drive and because the handle is removable it's customizable. They made a longer handle but mine didn't come with it. The fit between the different parts is kinda jiggly. Not junky but nothing for a manufacturer to be proud of either. It's got a 40 tooth gear...

    legit ratchet variant or ...

an attempt to get unwitting collectors ? I think the guy took the handle from a 3/8 nut driver and plopped it on a tear drop ratchet. ... http://https://www.ebay.com/itm/CRAFTSMAN-VINTAGE-RATCHET-3-8-DRIVE-/152748443546?hash=item239084479a:g:0CkAAOSw3z5Z2mqX edit: i just read the fine...

New "Klein Koat" handles on old non Klein pliers..

In case some one is interested... Here's some 9" no model number Boker linesman pliers. I'm guessing they're kinda old but new Klein Koat grips fit perfectly.! I had to hit them with really hot tap water to get them soft enough to go on and even then it wasn't easy. Worth it though as they...

    Late Duro/Indedtro...

Here's an interesting ratchet from the last days of Duro Metal Products. It's a model 6472 but it's got 2 patent numbers 4277990 and 3208318. The first is for simplified construction. The pawl and shift are one piece and there's no cover plate. The gear and pawl are held in place by a circlip...

    Book about Brown & Sharpe..

I'm about 3/4 through and it's a good read . Not too much info for the collecting side of things but a fascinating journey through the company's (and the Sharpe family's) history .

    Utica gas burner pliers..

Here's some 10 inch gas burner pliers that are the same model but a bit different. One (bottom) has a thinner more rounded head and the cross hatch grip pattern so I think they're older. The top pair has smooth handles and a fat head like gas burner pliers from most othe mfgs of the time. Both...

    Early rhft variation ? ...

Here's one you may not see too much. It's got 4 patent numbers and no lines next to the Craftsman logo. I'm guessing early 70's before the ones that mention being patented in Canada.

Makeshift pawl adapter for butterfly selector rats..

Got a decent butterfly selector ratchet for the collection. When I opened it up and watched it under load I could see the pawl was so worn that only half of each tooth was meshing. As you can see in the pics, pawls for the butterfly selector ratchets are different from late 60's to early 90's...

    Diamond adjustable patent #

Does anyone know what the number for Diamonds late 70's or early 80's adjustable patent was? Been looking (and wandering )over an hr now and I can't find it.

    Williams Superratchet pear head innards..

I got a 3/4" drive H51 apart and noticed its a bit more complicated than the 3/8 and 1/2" versions. Hopefully this thread can serve as a reference for someone in the future...

Alloy Artifacts is selling some of their collection.

Wow. If I had an eBay account I'd try and get something. Industrial tool and Internet history. I don't think links to stuff for sale are allowed but theres a notice link on the alloy artifacts main page.

Comparison of Thorsen and Indestro open gear ratchets

In another thread some one asked for a comparison of Thorsen and Indedtro open gear ratchets.. 1/2" drive Thorsen model 77 and Indestro Select model 6470: Length: Indestro 9 7/8" Thorsen 10 3/16" Head width: Indestro 1 13/32" Thorsen 1 3/8" Head Thickness: Indestro: 7/8" Thorsen 13/16". Both...

    Williams B 51 innards

Everyone knows about the old J.H. Williams pear head Superratchets . If not they’re shown in detail in us patent # 1,957,462 . There are two important points to the patent. The first is the way the teeth of the pawl mesh with the gear when the ratchet is under load. The second is the connection...

    Those weird Diamond Adjustables..

The ones that aren't Crescent style or monkey wrench but may be an auto wrench except that they're a little too thick. Anyone know when these last could have been made ?

    Pre war vise grips..

I think these are late 30's but they might be 1940+. The only patent# is 1,489,458 , there's no logo on the side and no model # on the bottom jaw. Notice also the hex head adjustment screw.

    Walden flex head..

I'm guessing this ratchet was made towards the end of Waldens existence . It's 1/2" drive, model #1152h. Length is 11" and other than the model number the only marking is = WALDEN = . I'm guessing it's late mfg because the grip part of the handle is the same diameter as the as the neck...

    Tools in Jurassic World.

Who besides me became extra interested for a moment when the hero of the story was working on his bike and then grabbed a ratchet. It was visible for only a second and what I could see looked Danahar-ish. If I had to guess I'd say it was an Allen brand .
